The Fifth Discipline Paradigm of Systems Thinking and Complexity Theory is based on Edwards. W Deming's concept of Profound Knowledge as a constant and never ending improvement of quality that eventually embodied itself in the Japanese term Kaizen. The Fifth Discipline provides also the most enlightened framework for modern Educational renaissance.
This was one of the earliest articles that Pratiti and me wrote on creativity and its sustenance. We put in an incredible amount of time, energy and effort and read something like thirty books in a period of one month. We were in the thick of action, moving all over Bangalore mobilizing like-minded thinkers towards the cause of education before we condensed our thoughts in the form of this article. Surprisingly, or rather, not surprisingly, much of what followed had been envisaged in this article. I am including it here for historical reasons only, as we have now moved in thought and opinion far beyond those times.
